    Mark Wright, 27, of Corrig, Stradbally, County Laois, was charged with importing a child sex doll from Japan, possession of child sex dolls, and 71 images of child pornography under the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998, with the importation alleged to have occurred between January and October 2017. He initially pleaded not guilty to all charges at Portlaoise Circuit Court. In November 2023, he pleaded guilty to possession of a video and images of child abuse material stored on a computer hard drive. He was remanded on bail until sentencing in February 2024, with the remaining charges adjourned for trial.
