Mark Salmon, a man aged 33, was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment at the Special Criminal Court on 15 June 2026 for a campaign of drug-related intimidation in north Dublin. He pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine valued at €35,280, organising an attack on a family home, threats to kill, and possession of proceeds of crime. The offences, which affected five victims including drug users and their families, took place between 2022 and 2024 and included smashed windows, a damaged car, and threats that victims would be raped and murdered if they did not pay debts of up to €157,000. Salmon was arrested in Portmarnock in May 2024 after a drug courier was stopped at a checkpoint in Carrick-on-Shannon in March 2024, where 504g of cocaine was found, and was charged at Dublin District Court on 18 May 2024. He was granted bail with strict conditions before his guilty plea in May 2026.
