Mark McAnaw (53), previously of Letterkenny, Co Donegal, appeared before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for breaching the conditions of a suspended sentence. He received an eight years and four months sentence for aggravated burglary in June 2023, with the final 16 months suspended, and was released from custody in July 2023. He pleaded guilty to harassing three female journalists in August 2023 and was sentenced to 11 years in June 2025. On 11 July 2025 Judge Nolan reactivated 10 months of the suspended portion, to run consecutively to the 11-year sentence.

Mark McAnaw, 53, previously of Letterkenny, Co Donegal, was jailed for 11 years on 5 June 2025 for the harassment of three Sunday World journalists, Nicola Tallant, Amanda Brunker and Deirdre Reynolds. The court heard that in August 2023, McAnaw repeatedly sent the women emails and messages of a violent and sexually threatening nature, including a threat to put a bullet in one of them. He was arrested and charged with three counts of harassment, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 18 December 2024, and was remanded in continuing custody. On 5 June 2025, Judge Pauline Codd imposed the full 11-year sentence after McAnaw refused to enter a bond that would have suspended the final 12 months, and ordered a lifetime no-contact order with a 10-mile exclusion from the victims' homes and workplaces.
