latest first- Two men sentenced to life for Clondalkin murder Murder · Co. Dublin
On 30 March 2024, Croatian man Josip Strok, 31, and his friend David Družinec, 29, were assaulted by a group of men outside a residential premises in Grange View Way, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, after an alleged altercation with a 17-year-old boy at a bus stop. Strok suffered catastrophic head injuries and died in Tallaght Hospital on 3 April 2024. Three men were arrested in April 2024 and a fourth, Mark Lee, 44, was arrested in June 2024; Connor Rafferty, 21, and Anthony Delappe, 19, were charged with murder and assault causing harm, and Lee was charged with murder. In October 2025, a jury at the Central Criminal Court found Lee and Delappe guilty of murder by an 11-to-1 majority verdict and acquitted Rafferty. On 17 November 2025, Lee and Delappe were sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, and on 24 November 2025 Rafferty received a fully suspended four-year sentence for assault causing harm to Družinec.
