Mark Fergus (58), of Ramparts Court, Dundalk, was arrested after members of the Armed Support Unit saw him acting in a highly intoxicated manner towards members of the public on Francis Street, Dundalk, and he was detained on Park Street. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour on Park Street on April 4th, while under a 12-month peace bond entered on March 12th. Reported on 28 May 2025, Judge Stephanie Coggans at Dundalk District Court imposed 80 hours of community service in lieu of a one-month sentence, and the defendant is engaging with the Turas counselling service under probation supervision.
