Mark Courtney, 58, and his brother Derek Courtney, 53, were arrested on 26 March 2026 after a Dublin Crime Response Team raid on Derek's home in St Aongus Green, Tallaght, South Dublin, where officers recovered 70kg of cannabis herb and 10kg of cannabis resin worth €1.52 million. Both men were charged with possessing cannabis for sale or supply. At the District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice on 28 March, Mark was remanded in custody without applying for bail, with a recommendation for medical treatment, while Derek was remanded with consent to bail of €25,000, with Judge John Hughes setting bail at €10,000 and a €15,000 independent surety. Legal aid was granted to both and they were due to appear again at Cloverhill District Court.
