In January 2017, Mark Carty, a 55-year-old man, stole approximately €13,000 from Edward Glennon's Bank of Ireland account through transactions at post offices and an ATM in Dublin, with total unauthorised withdrawals from the account amounting to just over €52,000. Carty was identified after CCTV footage was shown on RTÉ's Crimecall in October 2018 and an anonymous caller named him. He was arrested in August 2019 and pleaded guilty to money laundering counts.
