  • Christina Anderson loses appeal in Dublin manslaughter case Manslaughter · Co. Dublin

    Christina Anderson, a 41-year-old woman, stabbed Gareth Kelly, a 38-year-old man, five times while he tried to start his car outside her home in Kingswood, Dublin, at about 7am on 25 February 2020. She was initially charged with murder and pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity at the Central Criminal Court. In January 2023, the DPP accepted a guilty plea to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility, and in June 2023 she was sentenced to eight years in prison. The Court of Appeal dismissed her appeal against the sentence on 13 February 2024.
