    Marius Cristea, a 56-year-old man, fraudulently claimed just under €85,000 in jobseeker's allowance between December 2013 and March 2020 while working at Naas Golf Club under a false identity. He was interviewed by gardai in 2019 but continued claiming a further €11,000 until March 2020. He pleaded guilty to eight sample counts of social welfare fraud and one count of producing a false instrument at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 12 July 2022. Judge Martin Nolan sentenced him to 20 months' imprisonment.
