On 11 June 2018, three cans of coke were stolen from a Daybreak store in Nurney, Kildare. Marie Stokes, 36, of Castledermot, was charged with the theft. The case was heard at Naas District Court before Judge Desmond Zaidan, where it emerged she had 67 previous convictions. The shop had been reimbursed for the stolen goods. Judge Zaidan applied the Probation Act in sentencing her.
