  Maria Potova, 31, a woman and mother of five, was charged with five counts of theft and handling stolen property after finding a credit card on the floor at Kellehers Spar, Main Street, Longford, on 13 August 2021 and attempting to use it to pay for items. She was visible to shop workers on CCTV. At Longford District Court in late September 2021, her solicitor Frank Gearty tendered €25 by way of compensation and noted her previously unblemished record. Judge Seamus Hughes spared her criminal conviction and issued a Section 1(2) Probation Act order.
