  On 12 May 2020, Gardaí executed a search warrant at the home of Maria George, a 28-year-old woman, at Chestnut Grove, Letterkenny, Donegal, as part of an investigation into the sale and supply of cannabis in the town. Officers found two bags of cannabis worth approximately €560 behind the sofa, along with weighing scales and €725 in cash. George was arrested, taken to Letterkenny Garda Station, and made full admissions. In July 2022, Judge Éiteáin Cunningham sentenced her to 12 months' supervision by the Probation Services, with a three-month suspended sentence to be imposed if she fails to comply.
