latest first- High Court extends trespass injunction at Carrick-on-Shannon Trespass (illegal occupation) · Co. Leitrim
A group wearing balaclavas cut open a locked barrier and placed two caravans in a derelict bay at the Shannonside View Traveller Group Housing Scheme in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, beside a playschool. The council alleged that John Mongan, John Mongan jnr and Margaret Mongan had moved to Leitrim from Dublin and had no right to occupy the site. Leitrim County Council secured an injunction, and on Friday Mr Justice Conor Dignam extended the order until the final hearing of the action. The defendants have since vacated the site.
