  In 2016 a car was stopped in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, after it entered an exit-only roadway at Ramelton Road. Gardaí found that the driver did not own the car and had no insurance, and he was also suspected of drink driving. Marcus McCormack, from Co Down, had failed to appear to answer the motoring charges at the time. He appeared at a special sitting of Letterkenny District Court on a Saturday night, reported on 23 June 2024, after being spotted by gardaí in Letterkenny, and Judge Ciaran Liddy fined him €150 on the no insurance charge, taking the other charge into consideration. The latest development is that this fine was imposed at that sitting.
