  A 37-year-old Latvian man told a woman he could kill her and no-one would know at his apartment in Ballybofey on 15 November 2021. The woman and a friend had returned to the apartment for a party, and at 8am, when her friend left, Marcis Cigurs made the remark, leaving her visibly upset and shaking. She phoned a friend and made a complaint to Gardaí, and Cigurs was charged with making threats. He appeared at Letterkenny District Court in November 2022, admitted making the remark but was apologetic, and the case was adjourned until 20 February 2023 for a Victim Impact Statement and a Probation Report.
