A search of a Portarlington address on 6 May 2021 led to charges against Ireneusz Kiwak, 36, a Polish man, and Malgorzata Wojciechowska, 24, a Polish woman, both of Stonehaven, Lea Road, Portarlington. Kiwak is charged with money laundering involving €86,335, possession of cannabis, cocaine, N-ethylpentedrone and Etheylhexedrone for sale or supply, and obstructing a garda. Wojciechowska is accused of allowing premises to be used for controlled drugs and money laundering in relation to €8,550. Both appeared at Portlaoise District Court on 17 April 2022 before Judge Patricia Cronin, who remanded them on bail and sent the case to Portlaoise Circuit Court on 31 May 2022.
