    On 3 September 2021, Maciej Boreki was driving on the wrong side of the road on Clonminch Road, Spollanstown, Tullamore, and collided with an oncoming vehicle in dark, dry conditions, causing the injured party to suffer a dislocated shoulder and be hospitalised. The accident was attributed to tiredness after the defendant had been working for 14 hours that day. Boreki was charged with dangerous driving and pleaded not guilty at his first court appearance in June 2022, where the judge refused to reduce the charge to careless driving. The case was adjourned to 20 February 2023 to be heard by a different judge.
