    Luke Shaw, aged 22, secretly placed mobile phones in the bathroom of a shared house in Maynooth, Co Kildare, on dates between 1 June and 31 August 2021, with the camera facing the shower and toilet. Gardaí became aware after Shaw arrived at Maynooth garda station with several housemates, and he was arrested in November 2021. He was charged under section 45(3) of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act 2017 and pleaded guilty at Naas Circuit Criminal Court. In a court report published on 12 July 2024, Judge Martina Baxter sentenced him to two years in prison, suspended in full, with two years' supervision by the Probation Service.
