latest first- Templetuohy farmer's drink-driving conviction withdrawn Drink driving · Co. Tipperary
Gardaí saw a car being driven erratically in Templetuohy, County Tipperary, on the night of 13 February 2022, and Luke Larkin, a 65-year-old man of Tullow, Templetuohy, was arrested. Testing at Templemore Garda Station showed an alcohol level of 50 over 100. On 24 May 2023 Thurles District Court convicted Larkin of drink driving, disqualified him from driving for two years, fined him €250 and granted a grace period on the ban. On 26 July 2023 an inspector told the court that human error had led to the case and that a fixed penalty notice should have been issued, and Larkin's conviction was withdrawn.
