Louise Heaney, a 49-year-old woman from Tallaght, Dublin, posted a photograph featuring Boy A and Boy B on Facebook on 18 June 2021 and removed it shortly after. The image, obtained from the comments section of another post about the Ana Kriégel murder trial, had three children's faces covered with red markers while two boys' faces were circled with the letters A and B, and she sent it via Facebook Messenger to around 10 people. After Gardaí contacted her, she admitted to posting the photograph and pleaded guilty to publishing photos in contravention of the Children's Act 2001. On 9 March 2022, Judge Martin Nolan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court sentenced her to 18 months imprisonment, suspended in its entirety on strict conditions.
