    Lorraine Real, a woman, brought a complaint under environmental protection legislation against her neighbour Helena Irwin over persistent noise at a property on Glenview Drive, Hospital, Limerick. The complaints stretched back to June 2021, with Irwin playing loud music and making noise all night most nights. When Gardaí called to the house, Irwin did not answer the door. The case was heard at the district court sitting in Kilmallock, where Judge Patricia Harney jailed Irwin for two weeks. Bail was set at €100 with conditions including no noise after 9pm or before 8am and answering the door to Gardaí.
