  Lokman Benharkou, a 29-year-old Algerian man, was charged with assault causing harm to two women after an incident at Park Street, Dundalk, at about 1.30am on Friday 11 August 2023. The alleged attack followed a verbal altercation in a takeaway, and an unidentified male who intervened was allegedly stamped on, with gardaí still trying to identify him. Benharkou also faces two theft charges relating to an incident on 6 August. At a weekend sitting of Dublin District Court, reported on 14 August, he was granted bail with strict conditions and a €100 bond, and he is ordered to appear at Dundalk District Court on 6 September.
