Ian Doyle, 31, of Crumlin, Dublin, smacked Lisa Byrne on the head with an Xbox controller and choked her in her home in 2021. He was charged with two counts of assault causing harm and pleaded not guilty. When Byrne could not be located for trial, the DPP accepted guilty pleas to the lesser charge of assault.
