Lima Akrimiene (37), a woman, was stopped by gardaí at about 1:20am on 25 June 2023 after a patrol car saw her car travelling at high speed on the Battery Road, and the offence is linked to Longford Shopping Centre, Townspark. She failed a roadside test and an Evidenzer test recorded 74mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. She faced a charge of driving with an excess of alcohol in her system, accepted her guilt and entered an early plea at Longford District Court. Judge Binchy disqualified her from driving for three years and fined her €300, with the ban due to start on 1 February 2024.
