    Liam McGrath, a 75-year-old Irish man, formerly a Christian Brother known as Brother Kilian and a former school principal in Limerick, was accused of sexually assaulting two boys aged 12 to 14 in the 1980s. The two boys, now men in their 50s, separately complained to gardaí in 2020 and 2022, and McGrath pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of indecent assault. After a single trial, a jury found him guilty of seven counts and not guilty of four, and on 4 March 2026 Judge Colin Daly at Limerick Circuit Court sentenced him to five and a half years' imprisonment, with all sentences to run concurrently.
