Two Chinese men, Lin Delin, 30, and Li Hu, 26 (reports also give 36), were found hiding in toilets at Shannon Airport in the early hours of 10 September 2024 after arriving on a Ryanair flight from Girona, Spain, without proper documentation. They were charged under section 11 of the Immigration Act 2004 and remanded to Limerick prison by Judge Gabbett at Kilrush District Court. The following day at Ennis District Court, both men pleaded guilty to landing in the State without proper documentation. Judge Gabbett imposed a two-month suspended prison term on each man.
