Leonard Iliuta, a 36-year-old senior nurse, was convicted of sexually assaulting a female co-worker in his car in Dublin within the past five years. He told the victim he was a sex addict and quizzed her about her love life before touching her thigh and toward her vagina several times, after persistently offering her a lift and talking about threesomes. The victim notified gardaí and her employer, and Iliuta pleaded not guilty at a non-jury hearing before Judge John Hughes at Dublin District Court, where he was found guilty. In April 2024, he was given a four-month sentence suspended for two years, ordered to attend supervised probation and an offence-related treatment course, and to pay the victim €2,000 compensation.
