    On 7 to 9 February 2025, Leon Wright, a 36-year-old man, allegedly robbed shops and a pharmacy in north Dublin, brandishing a knife and threatening staff. He was arrested in the Sandyhill Gardens area of Ballymun on 9 February after gardaí used less-than-lethal force, including a 40mm impact round, to disarm him. Wright was charged with five counts of robbery and unlawful possession of a knife, while co-accused Lisa Hennessy, a 27-year-old woman, faced charges of robbery, theft and knife possession. At Dublin District Court on 11 February, Wright was remanded in custody to 16 February, and Hennessy was released on bail with conditions.
