    Kyle Jinks, a 31-year-old man, was sentenced to 12 years in prison at the Central Criminal Court for the rape and sexual assault of his sister Leah Jinks at their family home in Co Sligo. The abuse, which included rape, anal rape, digital penetration and inappropriate touching, occurred over a seven-year period when Leah was between 11 and 17. She made a complaint to gardaí in November 2019, and Jinks was arrested in 2020, denying the allegations. He was convicted of 21 sample counts of rape and four sample counts of sexual assault, and the judge directed two years' post-release supervision. Jinks maintains his innocence and intends to appeal.
