    A car registered to Laura Mason, a woman in her 70s of Killinan, Thurles, was caught speeding in Kildare in June 2021. On July 1, 2021, she gave gardaí a fictional name and address to avoid a fixed penalty notice, and the nominated driver's address was incomplete and could not be located. Mason pleaded guilty to giving false information to gardaí at Thurles District Court. Judge Elizabeth MacGrath convicted her and imposed a €250 fine, as reported on June 28, 2023.
