  A Ukrainian woman, Lana Biloshenko, of Greencastle, was detected by gardaí at Ballyargus, Redcastle, on 19 March 2025 for failing to wear a rear seatbelt. A fine of €120 was issued but not paid, so the matter proceeded to a court summons. She appeared at Carndonagh District Court and admitted the charge of being an unbelted adult occupant of a vehicle. The judge found the facts proven but struck out the charge, citing that it was a first offence and that she was unaware of the obligation to wear a seatbelt in the back of a vehicle. The judge warned her it would be wise to wear her seatbelt in future.
