latest first- Carer convicted of stealing over €100,000 from elderly couple in Dublin Theft (stealing money via ATM withdrawals) · Co. Dublin
Angela Manning, a 58-year-old woman from Ballinteer, Dublin, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 13 July 2023 to seven sample charges of stealing money from an elderly couple via ATM withdrawals between April 2019 and September 2021. The couple, Laetitia and Enda O'Regan, in their late 70s with significant health problems, had more than €150,000 taken from their bank account by Manning, who had been their carer. Manning claims she converted the money to cryptocurrency and sent it to a soldier she met on social media. After a Garda investigation and a High Court freezing order in November 2021, Manning was sent forward for trial in February 2023, and the case was adjourned for finalisation until 27 July 2023.
