On 22 April 2020, gardaí forced entry to a property at The Cloisters, Collon, County Louth, after getting no response at the door, and recovered 64 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €51,200, along with sapling plants, fertilizer and cultivation units. Kristina Lazotkiene, a 44-year-old Lithuanian woman, was arrested in connection with the raid. She told Dundalk Circuit Court she had returned from a four-day trip to England in mid-March 2020 and found her home transformed into a grow house, but gardaí said the harvest could not have been achieved in that time frame. Judge Dara Hayes sentenced her to two and a half years, backdated to 11 May 2021 when she went into custody.
