latest first- Man sentenced to 11 years for raping stepdaughter in Dublin Rape · Co. Dublin
Anthony Byrne, 55, a man from Dublin, was found guilty by a Central Criminal Court jury in May 2024 of two counts of raping his stepdaughter Kim Jordan, a woman now 36, in 2002. The first offence took place in Majorca, Spain, on her 15th birthday, and the second at the family home in Drimnagh, South Dublin, several months later. Ms Jordan made a complaint to gardaí in 2018 and waived her anonymity to allow Byrne to be named. On 31 July 2024, Ms Justice Mary Ellen Ring sentenced Byrne to 11 years with the final 18 months suspended, backdated to 15 May for time in custody.
