  On 11 December 2025, Killian Kirby, a 35-year-old man with an address in Kerry, was aggressive at a Maxol shop on St Nessan's Road, where he head-butted one employee and caused a second a minor injury. He later spat at, bit and lunged at security guards at University Hospital Limerick, and his solicitor said he was going through a psychotic episode at the time. Kirby was sentenced to six months' imprisonment at Limerick District Court by Judge Catherine Ryan, as reported on 27 April 2026.

  Gardaí received a report of a burglary and criminal damage incident at a residence in Rylane, Abbeyfeale, Co Kerry, at about 7.45pm on Monday 8 July 2024. A man named as Killian Kirby, aged in his 30s (one source gives 33), is alleged to have used a digger to damage a house and a car, and to have threatened several gardaí with a machete before fleeing into forestry. He was tasered by a member of the Armed Support Unit, arrested and detained, and has been charged in connection with burglary and criminal damage. He appeared before Tralee District Court on Wednesday 10 July 2024 and was refused bail.
