    A 33-year-old man, Kieron Bolger, was accused of driving under the influence of cocaine at a garda checkpoint in Bishopsland, Ballymore Eustace, on 22 July 2019. A breath test tested positive for cocaine and a follow-up blood test indicated cannabis in his system. The case was dismissed at Naas District Court on 28 July 2022 after Judge Michéle Finan struck it out. The judge sided with the defence on the issue that the breathalyser had not been confirmed as sanitised.
