The skeletal remains of Kieran Quilligan, 47, a man from Togher, Cork city, were found at a ravine in Rostellan, Co Cork, on 29 January 2024, five months after he was last seen alive. Two men were convicted of his murder in October 2025 at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork. Janice Long, 65, a woman of Mahon, Cork city, was charged in June 2026 with withholding information contrary to the Offences Against the State Act during the murder investigation. She appeared before Cork District Court on 5 August 2026 and was remanded on bail until 21 December 2026, directed to indicate whether she will enter a plea or contest the case.
