Jonathan Gill, 43, of Clontarf, Dublin, is charged with obstructing Garda Kieran McQuaid during an alleged drug search at Carnegie Court Hotel, Swords, on 6 August 2024. The offence is contrary to Sections 21(4) and 27 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977. At his first appearance at Swords District Court sitting in Balbriggan on 29 January 2025, defence barrister Annette Kealy said she was still waiting on CCTV footage from the hotel. Judge Shalom Binchy adjourned the case to February to confirm whether the CCTV is available and to fix a plea or hearing date.
