    On November 6, 2021, a man, Kieran Kearney, was observed by gardaí going over to the wrong side of the road at Rosemary Square and slightly crossing over at Ashmere, both in Roscrea, County Tipperary. His vehicle was found abandoned, and gardaí identified him only because he admitted driving it. He was originally charged with dangerous driving, but Judge Elizabeth MacGrath at Nenagh District Court accepted his plea to careless driving and fined him €250 for each of two counts, taking the Behaghgloss offence into consideration. The sentencing was reported in October 2023, with the court warning him that he was clocking up penalty points.
