  Four men assaulted Christopher Lowther in his home at Meenaneary Close, Carrick, Co Donegal on July 14, 2022. The four accused, Marcus Love (20), Jordan Ryle (25), Kieran Hughes (23 or 24) and Kyle Farrelly (27), were each charged with assault causing harm under Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997. They appeared at Glenties District Court in July 2024 and were returned for trial to Donegal Circuit Court. On December 10, 2024, all four pleaded guilty before Judge John Aylmer at Donegal Circuit Court, and the case was adjourned pending probation reports for each man.
