Kieran Callaghan, a 50-year-old man and father of four who worked at Glenveagh National Park, was found dead at his home in Roshine, Churchill, Milford, Donegal, on 7 July 2013. He was last seen in the vicinity of Churchill at approximately 6pm on 5 July 2013, and his body was found by a family member at approximately 1.30pm on 7 July 2013. An inquest at Letterkenny courthouse in 2022 returned an unlawful killing verdict, with the coroner ruling he died from blunt force trauma. A murder investigation was launched with 200 lines of enquiry pursued, 150 statements taken, and 143 people interviewed, but a file submitted to the DPP in 2017 found insufficient evidence for prosecution. No suspect has been identified or charged, and Gardaí renewed their appeal for information on the 10th anniversary of his death in July 2023.
