latest first- US actor jailed for raping woman in Dublin Airbnb Rape · Co. Dublin
Kevin Yungman, a 32-year-old American actor, pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to one charge of raping a 19-year-old Brazilian woman twice in a Dublin Airbnb in June 2018, after he placed his arms around her neck and squeezed until she passed out. The pair had first met in Paris three months earlier, where Yungman had also caused her to lose consciousness by placing a hand on her neck. Yungman was arrested boarding a flight at Dublin Airport shortly after the incident, released pending a DPP file, and was later arrested in the United States in August 2024 before being extradited to Ireland. On 31 July 2025, Mr Justice Tony Hunt sentenced him to six years in prison with the final year suspended, backdated to August 2024, and imposed a perpetual no-contact order and a ten-year ban from re-entering Ireland.
