latest first- Inquest records cause of death in Lucan fatal stabbing Homicide (fatal stabbing) · Co. Dublin
Kevin Walsh, 35, from Tallaght, was found with serious injuries at an apartment in Shackleton, Lucan, at around 3am on Sunday 7 January 2024 and died at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown later that evening. He sustained at least one stab wound to the abdomen, and gardaí upgraded the death to a murder inquiry, believing he was attacked by someone he knew, possibly in the Allenton area of Tallaght before taking a taxi home. Two women in their 40s and a man in his 30s were arrested on 30 May 2024 and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. At an inquest on 6 August 2024, the coroner recorded the cause of death as haemorrhage and shock following a stab wound to the abdomen and adjourned the case for six months, with no one charged and a file expected at the DPP within two to three months.
