Kevin McTague, a 36-year-old man from Drumcroman, Balinamore, Leitrim, was charged with public order offences after an incident at Rampart Lane, Dundalk, on 27 October 2025. Gardaí were flagged down by a doorman at Ridley's on Park Street about an intoxicated man who had been refused entry, and McTague was charged with resisting a peace officer, threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour, and being intoxicated in a public place. The case was put back for a €500 donation to be produced, and the donation was handed over to the court community fund. In April 2026, the local district court applied Section 1(1) of the Probation of Offenders Act, so McTague avoided a conviction.
