Kevin Davis (37), of Ballinvalley, Killeigh, is accused of assaulting a woman, threatening to kill or cause serious harm to her, possessing a knife and a realistic imitation firearm, and resisting Sergeant Donal Casey, with the alleged offences committed in Birr, Co Offaly, on January 12. He was in custody from December 18, was granted bail by Judge Andrew Cody on January 28 with a driving prohibition, and was remanded in custody again in February after a file went to the DPP. After attempts to vary the driving prohibition failed and further remands at Tullamore District Court, a book of evidence was served and he was sent for trial to Tullamore Circuit Court. The case is next listed at Tullamore Circuit Court on April 14, and he was remanded in custody with consent to bail.
