  Kevin Carberry, a 35-year-old man from Lanesboro, Longford, was intoxicated, insulted and threatened a garda, and made a swing at the officer at Townparks, Longford, on October 13, 2025. He also obstructed a garda at the same location and caused criminal damage to a Longford Garda Station cell. He pleaded guilty to two public order breaches and obstructing a garda at Longford District Court on February 17, 2026, after a bench warrant was issued for his failure to attend a previous hearing. Judge Bernadette Owens sentenced him to five months' imprisonment, backdated to the date he was taken into custody, and directed that a psychiatric report be compiled while he is in custody.
