latest first- Limerick man charged with burglary at International Rugby Museum offices Burglary · Co. Limerick
On 24 October 2025, an intruder allegedly ransacked the offices of the International Rugby Museum at 2 Cecil Street, Limerick city, and took keys, Limerick Going for Gold badges and a bag of flags. Gardaí arrested a man, who identified himself as Kenneth Sheehan, 39, of Shanabooley Road, Ballynanty, Limerick city, as he left the building by the front door, and Sheehan later told gardaí in interview that he had taken the items and that a Stanley knife found nearby was his. Sheehan was charged with burglary at the museum site and with possession of a knife at Shannon Street, and was brought before a special sitting of Kilmallock Court, where Inspector Gearoid Thompson objected to bail. The judge refused bail and remanded him in custody to appear before Limerick District Court for DPP's directions.
