  Lisa Rafter, a 32-year-old woman from Abbeyleix, Laois, is accused of assault causing harm after allegedly kicking Garda Kennedy in the groin and striking a second garda on the nose at 52 Thornberry, Abbeyleix, on 14 May 2021. She first appeared at Portlaoise District Court in June 2022, where the matter was adjourned. In July 2023, Judge Andrew Cody sent the case forward to Portlaoise Circuit Court for trial beginning 24 October 2023.
