Keith Redmond, 45, an Irish man from Finglas, Dublin, sent four photographs of his penis and 83 pages of explicit messages to a decoy he believed was a 14-year-old girl between 30 August and 3 December 2022. The contact was initiated by a UK-based group called Volunteers for Predator Exposure through a decoy on the Kik app, and Redmond later moved the conversation to WhatsApp. He was located by the Irish group Child Online Protection Enforcers on a laneway beside Boyle Sports on Manor Street, Dublin 7, and pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Judge Orla Crowe sentenced him to two years in prison with the final six months suspended, one year of post-release supervision, and no unsupervised contact with children.
