Keith Kinlan (50), of Avondale House, Dublin 1, carried out a knife robbery at a Spar shop on Gardiner Street, Dublin 1, on 4 March 2025, taking €200 from staff and leaving in a bag. Gardaí could not identify him from footage because his face was covered, but CCTV traced his movements to Avondale House, and clothing similar to that worn in the raid was later found in an apartment that a warrant allowed them to search. Kinlan pleaded guilty to robbery at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. On 9 December 2025, Judge Orla Crowe imposed a sentence of four years and six months, with the final six months suspended on conditions including engagement with the Probation Service for a year.
